Kangaroo Scuba Open Water Scuba Diver: Your First Hop Below the Surface! 🦘

Where baby ' roos trade dry land for wet fins, learn to breathe like pros, and discover that bouncing underwater is way more fun than on land. G'day, mate—welcome to the deep end!

In our legendary Open Water course, you’ll master:

  • Buoyancy control via perfect pouch inflation/deflation technique

  • Finning with hind-leg power strokes that leave lesser divers in your dust (or bubbles)

  • The mandatory “G’day, mate!” descent greeting at 5 metres

  • Spotting Great Whites and calmly yelling “OI, SHARKO, YA GOTTA RUN MATE!” while back-pedalling like a caffeinated wallaby

You’ll practise skills like:

  • Clearing a flooded mask while your instructor screams, “Pretend it’s Vegemite in your eyes!”

  • Sharing air with a buddy who’s panicking because they just saw a wobbegong that “looked at them funny.”

  • The emergency “Hop to the Surface” ascent (do NOT try this in real life, mate)

Perfect for anyone who wants to explore the reef, scare fish with their silhouette, and come home with proof they survived 18 metres without turning into a human floatie.

Graduation perks:

  • Official NAUI certification card and a kangaroo in full scuba gear giving you a thumbs-up (because roos don’t have thumbs, it’s extra impressive)

  • We take your picture and plaster it on our website for the entire world to see

  • Lifelong right to say, “I learned to dive from a bloody marsupial, what’s your excuse?”

Sign up now—before the ocean realises you’re not actually part of the mob and kicks you out.

The NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver course is your entry-level certification to become an autonomous recreational scuba diver. It teaches you the foundational knowledge, skills, and safety practices needed to dive independently (with a buddy) in open water environments similar to those in which you trained, typically to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

Upon successful completion (passing the exam, demonstrating all required skills, and completing the dives), you'll earn your **NAUI Open Water Diver** certification. This allows you to dive with a buddy anywhere in the world (without direct supervision) in conditions similar to your training, rent gear, and join guided dives.

The course emphasizes safety, gradual progression, and fun — most people find it challenging at first but incredibly rewarding. Your instructor will tailor it to your pace and comfort level.
